Fabulous heated swimming pool, great food, good value for the money, very nice and welcoming staff

The courtyard was calm and beautiful.

The safe box had been broken. And we changed the room. There are some Beatles and insects in our . There wasn't any tooth brush, soap, shaving pack... The breakfast was not good.

Convenient hotel location for setting off on safari

The staff was amazing. They were all so friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a pool bar, restaurant and elegant lounge.

The food service is very very slow when you order from a menu (vs. using a buffet). The location is scary. The streets of Nairobi CBD are crowded, not clean, and we were told not to walk very far. While the hotel was nice, it was a bit like being in a refuge we could/should never leave.

Excellent city hotel

The hotel offered an extensive menu in two restaurants. The bar is elegant. The staff members were all very service oriented. The gym is very well equipped.

The hotel cannot change its location but we felt we had to stay inside because the city streets are crowded and rough. The A/C did not work well. /

Wow! What a cool hotel! When I booked my two nights here, I knew that it was a luxury hotel with history but I had no idea how much cool history is actually associated with it! Many famous people have stayed here and the hotel has some great stories. They give a free heritage tour on request and you can learn all about the history of the hotel (and maybe see the suites) which is really fascinating. History aside it is a wonderful hotel to stay in also! The staff are all fantastic. Dominic, Paul, and Lucy all made sure that our stay went smoothly and were funny and accommodating. Steve and Joanne really went above and beyond giving us tons of info about the hotel, Nairobi, and even some history of Kenya. All the rest of the staff were very courteous as well and they made us feel so welcome. We also had a great driver, Solomon who took us around Nairobi and pointed out interesting and important sites which was great. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed and the pool, gym, and common areas were all wonderful places to spend time. The food in both the Thorn Tree and the Thai Chi restaurants was really delicious and the breakfast buffet was huge. Overall I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Nairobi if and hopefully when I return in the future!

We were warmly welcomed back after a 3 week trip on safari and to the coast. The staff are amazing and attend to our every need, especially as our flight back to the UK was not until midnight. We were allowed to stay in our room until 13.00 and then used the health club facilities to freshen up before leaving. The massage, pedicure and manicure staff were wonderful.

We have visited the Stanley Sarova many times over the years (first, when it was the New Stanley) and we are always delighted to stay there. Its Thorn Tree restaurant is superb as are the breakfasts. The staff are incredibly helpful, linking us with local bus and train companies, and we could want for nothing. The spots massage was perfect. We will return again and again.

I really enjoyed the spa treatment (a heavenly swiss massage, which helped me recover from an exhausting trip) I was allowed free early check-in - which exceeded my expectations! Staff at breakfast were really friendly, and allowed people to eat free breakfast after breakfast time was up.

An exceedingly hospital place. From the gate, the reception, dinning stuff, foods and drinks, etc. I enjoyed every moment with the friendly staff. For sure while in Nairobi, this will remain a home for me
